First Holy Communion 2021

Published on September 23, 2021

All remaining Covid 19 restrictions are due to be lifted on 22 October, meaning that we will no longer be as limited regarding the numbers permitted in church. However, we will continue to exercise due care and prudence as we are all very aware that Covid 19 is still active and spreading in communities.

With the lifting of restrictions on 22 October it is proposed that we hold two First Holy Communion Masses in the parish.

The first on Saturday 23 October, at 11.00 a.m. in Killeen Church and the second on Saturday 30 October, at 11.00 a.m in Louisburgh Church.

(The time is set because there are baptisms on both of these afternoons, and in the event of a funeral arising to allow time for a funeral Mass after the First Holy Communion Mass.)

  • Parents / guardians may bring their child to either of these Masses regardless of what school they attend.
  • If these dates do not suit feel free to contact Fr. Long about arranging an alternative date.
  • Another choice, is for a child to come to any of our Sunday Masses, letting Fr. Long know in advance so it can be acknowledged that a person is receiving their First Holy Communion at that Mass.
